Luis
Moura Silva* - Luis Moura Silva is an Associate Professor in the University of
Coimbra. He graduated in Informatics Engineering in 1991, from the University
of Coimbra. He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technical
University of Lisbon in 1993 and his PhD from the University of Coimbra in
1997. Up to this date he has published more than 110 scientific papers in
International Conferences, some Journal articles and two Book chapters. His
current research interests include autonomic computing, recovery-oriented
computing, dependable web-services, fault-tolerance for grid computing and
desktop grids. He is now involved in the collaboration between Portugal, the
University of Texas-at-Austin 43 and the University of Carnegie-Mellon to
support dual degrees and research collaborations in the area of Advanced
Computing. He is also the founder and CEO of WIT-Software, which is a spin-off
company that develops software for mobile communications for clients like
Vodafone, ESA, Alcatel, Panasonic, RealNetworks, among others.
He has
research grants from EU-ICT programs -
FP6 and FP7.
